Grammy Museum Mural Series

The Newark Mural series, in partnership with the Grammy Museum and the Prudential Center celebrates Newark’s vibrant arts community and its rich musical history. We held an event to unveil the artwork titled “Key to Life” by artist Camille Coté, also known a FABS.

Officials in NJ’s largest city were joined by Grammy winning musician and Newark native, Wyclef Jean to unveil the first of a five-part music themed mural series.

The second mural features Newark’s own, Whitney Houston. Artist Maude Lemaire was commissioned to create the beautifully crafted hand cut glass mosaic. It took her 4 months to design the 1,000 piece artwork and another month to install on the side of a high rise building in the city. The partners behind this project firmly believe art, in many ways, is a critical driver for social change and community building.
